Latest Share Enhancements
Intro
This talk is about what has changed since 4.0 up to 4.2. Some examples are:
- New dashlets
- How to extend the document library component.
- Localisation
- Hybrid sync
Before, I think it is good to remember some details about Share:
New and updated Dashlets

Site Search
It is a new dashlet we can find in the Community version so far. I don't see any advantage to use this dashlet instead of using the advanced search box available in both Community and Enterprise.

Saved Search
It is a new dashlet a little more interesting than the previous one. Using this dashlet we can save a search and the dashlet will get the search back every time we go to our dashlet on Share. It is ideal for generating report views in a site.

Discussion Forums
This is a new dashlet which improves finding discussion updates. In fact, this dashlet allows you to create new topics, view topics, and filter them:
- by My Topics or by All my Topics.
- by Topic updated today or last 7/14/28 days.

Image Preview
This is not a new dashlet. So it is an updated dashlet. The layout has been updated and we can specify a folder.
- My Tasks
This dashlet was updated. Now this dashlet offers a better filtering and the paging was added too.
- Content I'm Editing
This dashlet was updated and now it is asynchronous. When the dashlet is loaded the content is fetched. So the page is not blocked to fetch the content and Share runs faster.
